Does a DUI or DWI Charge Mean You Have a Problem?
A large percentage of persons charged with a DUI (.08 blood alcohol concentration (BAC) or above) have a diagnosable alcohol problem. A person who does not have a high tolerance for alcohol would not think he/she is sober enough to drive at a blood alcohol concentration of .08 and above. Usually only persons with a behavioral tolerance, meaning a history of drinking and a tolerance for alcohol that allows them to act as if they are not impaired, and even think they are not impaired, when they are, will drive with an illegal BAC. If you drive as a pattern of behavior (say, one-to-times a month) with a BAC that you know is illegal, there is a good chance you may have an alcohol problem.
